Common Install Options

When in comes to Gas Fireplaces there are two types of products that are available.  Both products are viable option depending on preference and purpose.

Vented Gas Logs

The vented gas log can only be installed into an open wood fireplace, whether masonry built or factory built.  It needs a well working chimney system.  This installation produces more heat than traditional wood fireplaces while offering realistic logs and flames.

Vent less Gas Logs

The vent less gas logs can be installed without a chimney.   Because of this the flames and logs can not touch to avoid carbon monoxide emissions.  This installation will offer more hear heat than the vented log. However, a working vent less gas log will not look as realistic as the vented version

Intermittent Pilot Ignition

Worry about your pilot running all the time?  The Intermittent Pilot Ignition is great for gas fireplaces.  It’s the EASY ON option.  Sometimes pilots are hard to light, needing to use both hands to light.  With a simple push of a button, you can have your beautiful fireplace burning.

Intermitten Pilot Ignitions are not good for a converted brick and mortor fireplace.  It is best to keep the pilot lit continuously for the small amount of heat in the flue.

Gas Inserts

The gas insert is a furnace rated appliance that uses a sealed system with a fixed glass in the front.  This type of installation provides more and that gas logs and zone heating making it more efficient. Its a good option with fireplaces with masonry issues.
